RAW IS WAR RESULTS (SEPTEMBER 21, 1998,
IN SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA)

Based on their recent involvement in Mr. McMahons "master plan" to
take the World Wrestling Federation Title from Stone Cold Steve Austin,
the owner offered The Rock, Mankind and Ken Shamrock the opportunity
to compete in a Triple Threat Match later in the night. Whomever the
winner was would get a shot at the gold one night after BREAKDOWN on
RAW! Vince also stipulated the Rattlesnake and a "volunteer" would face
Kane and the Undertaker later on as well!

Out for retribution for the throat injury sustained by his New Age Outlaw
partner, Badd Ass Billy Gunn took on Jeff Jarrett on RAW IS WAR! After
the rest of DX and Southern Justice returned to the locker room, Billy took
the early advantage on his foe with clotheslines and elbows. After
powerslamming Jeff, Gunn slugged his opponent with a flurry of rights!
However, after missing a body block the DX member faced a beating on
the outside. After both superstars battled back in the ring, the referee
accidentally got hit in the eye by Billyallowing Jarrett to go for his guitar.
But, before he was able to take a swing the referee grabbed it from him!
Capitalizing on the moment, Gunn nailed his foe with a swinging
neckbreaker for the win!

Following a commercial break, Federation Champion Stone Cold Steve
Austin hit the ringperhaps his last appearance as the titleholder! The
Rattlesnake commented on the Triple Threat Match at Breakdown, calling
it TOTAL BULL@#$%! Austin then stated "volunteer" or no "volunteer,"
he would come out later and kick both the Undertaker and Kanes asses
by himself!

Prior to the start of the
Headbangers match
against the Oddities,
Thrasher and Mosh
sprayed silly string in
the faces of their foes
and threw Luna out of
the ring. Next, the
Headbangers ripped apart Golgas Eric Cartman doll,
and viciously mauled the Oddities! For some reason,
Mosh and Thrasher snappedand left the ring in utter carnage!

In a bout for the World Wrestling Federation
Womens Championship, Sable took on her rival
Jacqueline! The femme fatale started off with kicks
to her foes head, but "Marvelous" Marc Mero
distracted herallowing Jackie to get the advantage.
With a team effort, Mero and his love interest wear
able to wear down the blonde beauty, but Sable
battled back and leveled her nemesis with a series of
clotheslines. However, as Sable was about to suplex
Jackie back in the ring, "Marvelous" grabbed her foot
and held her down so his lady could get the win!
With the victoryJacqueline becomes the WWF
Womens Champion!!

In tag team competition, the brothers
grimthe Undertaker and Kanetook on
Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin and a
volunteer! The superstar that stepped up to
the plate was DX MEMBER BILLY
GUNNmuch to the rage of Mr. McMahon!
The fellow Texans faced a blitzkrieg by the
demonic duo, as the Undertaker went after Austin and Billy and Kane
battled on the outside. Inside, the champion hit the Phenom with a Lou
Thesz Press, and Gunn tagged in and attempted to
avoid the onslaught of the Reaper! The siblings
mauled the DX memberkeeping him on the mat
and away from Stone Colds tag. However, Billy
battled back and got the Rattlesnake inresulting in a
all-out brawl! While the Big Red Machine and Stone
Cold fought on the outside, the Undertaker hit the
DX member with a chokeslam for the win. Following
the melee, the champion took a home run swing with
a steel chair at the demonic brothers!

In tag team competition, Skull and 8-Ball of DOA faced Southern Justice!
These pair of 300-plus pound teams wasted little time in attempting to
destroy one another, and Canterbury and Knight took control with their
sheer power. Paul Ellering added some help from the outside, which drew
the rage of Jeff Jarrett from the locker room. After smashing the manager
with his guitar, the match came to an abrupt end as DOA tended to
Ellering!

Following a commercial break, Steven Regal was shown in the
forestshaving natures way as a "Real Mans Man" would!

In an attempt to get reinstated in the
Federation, Al Snow took on Commissioner
Slaughter in a Boot Camp Match! The former
Federation Champion attacked his opponent
on the outside and brutally whipped Al with a
belt! Snow answered back with a martial arts
kickand took the strap to the back of his foe
on the outside. But, after missing with a
chairshot, Slaughter took the weapon to Als cranium! As the battle
continued on the outside, Snow returned the chair
beating and delivered a moonsault off the barricade.
The superstar missed another moonsault with the
weapon back inside, with opened the door for the
Commissioner to latch on the Cobra Clutch! Snow
was able to break the hold, and went for
Headdelivering it to the gut of the former drill
sergeant. Following a low blow, Al hit Sarge with
Head once more and got the winreclaiming his
career in the Federation! Following the contest,
Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson attacked the
victorbut Scorpio made the save!

With Dustin Runnels at the commentators
table in prayer, Val Venis took on Nation
member Owen Hart! The Calgary native
worked on the back of the "Big Valbowski"
with a series of backbreakers, but Dustin was
unable to stand anymore and hit the ring to
attack his nemesis! After hooking Runnels in
the ropes, Val got on the microphone and forced the former
Intercontinental Champion to view his latest adult film"Something About
Terri"!

In a bout for the European Title, X-Pac took
on champion DLo Brown! The match
between these two aerial artists went back and
forth, with the champion eventually hitting his
foe with his Sky High powerbomb! However,
just as DLo went off the top for his finisher,
Pac nailed him with the X-Factor! After
covering Brown for the three-count, the
superstar claimed the European Titleand made history as all four
competitors of DX hold gold!

The main event of RAW saw The Rock, Mankind and Ken Shamrock
face off in a Triple Threat Match for a shot at the Federation Title! The
contest began with the Nation co-leader and the Worlds Most Dangerous
Man trading fistswith Mankind quickly joining in for a two-on-one
against Shamrock. The Peoples Champion and Mankind both went to the
outsidewhere the former UFC fighter mauled his foes! After each
superstar suffered a ton of abuse, the demonic
brotherhood of Kane and the Undertaker
attacked Mankind while McMahon watched
on! After Shamrock got thrown over the top,
the siblings mauled him as wellleaving The
Rock to fend for himself. After issuing the
Miami native a double chokeslam and turning their attention back to
Mankind, Stone Cold blasted Vince from behind! Who will be the WWF
Champion after Breakdown? Find out this Sunday!

WWF RAW is WAR & SUNDAY NIGHT HEAT (SUMMER SLAM)
WCW NITRO & THUNDER THE NITRO REPORT

August 25, 1998

The drama between the NWO and WCW continued to unfold with a momentous defection to the black-and-white and a major return. After weeks of getting attacked by NWO Hollywood, Stevie Ray opted to join the black-and-white express. Big Heat claimed his brother Booker T had chosen a different path and now he had to choose his own.

While WCW lost a major player, another returned to the fold. During a DDP interview, Roddy Piper made his way back into in the fold. He told Page and fans that he would join DDP at Fall Brawl and acquire the services of another superstar. The main event of Nitro gave fans an indication on who he might have chosen. . .

Match Results

Wrath d. Mike Enos
Making an impressive return, Wrath dominated Enos, refusing to let the former tag champ have a moment of advantage. Wrath ended the match with a powerslam and pin.

Dean Malenko d. Kaz Hayashi
Although Malenko walked away with a win after a Texas Cloverleaf, Kayashi ended up being the show-stealer. Hitting some remarkable moves -- including a somersault senton splash -- the Japanese Superstar managed to get two near falls and make an impression with American audiences.

Konnan d. Jim Niedhardt
Konnans popularity continues to rocket as quickly as his notable win record. After stirring the crowd, the Mexican Superstar dazzled Neidhardt with his unique arsenal of moves... including a pancake piledriver that set up his Tequila Sunrise submission hold.

Steve McMichael d. Riggs
For the first time in months, Riggs displayed the in-ring acumen that made him a tag team Champ in his early WCW days. Outwrestling the former Chicago Bear, the Flock Member wore down McMichael and slowed the pace. But Mongos power was just too much. Despite wrestling a smart match, Riggs tasted the Mongo Spike and defeat. Post-match, Flock members attacked McMichael, causing Malenko and, surprisingly, Saturn to make the save. The Iceman and McMichael held the four fingers up to the crowd.

Scott Norton with Vincent d. Rick Fuller
Heres a great way to spend two minutes: watch Norton absorb a series of Fuller attacks with total impunity and then squash him with a powerbomb. Another blowout win for the former World Arm Wrestling Champion.

Lex Luger d. Brian Adams with Vincent
In classic Luger fashion, The Total Package -- distracted by Vincent and overwhelmed by Adams brute strength -- took a thorough beating form the NWO Hollywood henchman before rebounding with a series of clotheslines. With some more help from Vincent, Adams escaped one Torture Rack attempt, but still fell prey to a second. Luger won by submission.

Time Limit Draw: Chris Jericho vs. Curt Hennig
TV Title Match
Amazing match, curious finish. A glorious battle between two wrestlers from different generations, Hennig and Jericho set aside their usual trickery and put forth the finest and most solid match of the broadcast. Both men escaped the finishers of the other and displayed a variety of clever moves and counters. Even after the bell rang -- signifying a time limit draw -- the two men continued to brawl... until the Giant arrived. Surprisingly, the Giant pushed Hennig down, allowing Jericho to leave with the belt. Hennig questioned Giants actions, but received no answers.

Hollywood Hogan with The Disciple and The Giant vs. Goldberg and Kevin Nash
Early on, The Disciple whacked Goldberg, Hogan dominated the World Champion. Nash attacked the Disciple, but was Shanghai-attacked by Hennig. NWO Hollywood then attacked Goldberg -- only to have the Wolfpak arrive to even the score. Goldberg recovered, Jackhammered Hennig and pinned the former US Champion. Hogan used the opportunity to attack the undefeated marvel; Nash tried to make the save, but ended up hitting Goldberg with a big knee. The Nash attack allowed Giant to throw The World Champ from the ring. Seconds later, Warrior, Diamond Dallas Page and Roddy Piper cleared the ring. Nash and Goldberg, separated by Konnan, barked at each other on the outside.

Match Results

MIKE ENOS def. BULL PAYNE
Minnesotas meanest mauler, Mike Enos, deflated Milwaukees pride and joy, Bull Payne. Enos silenced the bearded brawler with a suplex outside the ring, then scored the three-count with a fall-away slam from the turnbuckles.

THE CAT def. DISCO INFERNO
The Cat crushed Disco Inferno with one karate kick and thats what The Cat predicted will happen to everyone in every wrestling locker room. Ernest Miller showed a new mean-streak, with a microphone in his hand, and in essence challenged the world to a karate fight.

KONNAN def. SILVER KING
Despite struggling to Mexico rival Silver King for much of the near-10-minute match, Konnan pulled out the hard-fought win with The Tequila Sunrise. Post-match, NWO-Hollywood members taunted Konnan.

KAZ HAYASHI def. EVAN KOURAGEOUS
The Cruiserweight division appears set for a shakeup, courtesy of Japan newcomer Kaz Hayashi, 25, a seven-year pro. The high-flying superstar sparkled over Power Plant product Evan Kourageous. So much, in fact, that Sonny Onoo appeared ringside during the bout to scout his native countryman. Hayashi finished off Kourageous with an impressive senton splash off the top rope.

LODI def. SATURN
Talk about a shocker Lodi defeated Saturn. As Saturn made his way to the ring, Lodi confronted him. Lodi claimed Saturn broke his fingers, when it was actually Raven. Lodi then challenged Saturn, although the bald bruiser wanted no part of Lodi because he thought Lodi didn't stand a chance. So, Lodi made the following stipulation: If Saturn won, Lodi would leave The Flock; if Lodi won, Saturn would have to be his slave until Fall Brawl. Saturn accepted, naturally.

Big mistake for Saturn.

While the referee was distracted by Sick Boy, Kanyon, out of no-where, slammed Saturn with the Flatliner. Lodi, barely conscious, put his arm on top of Saturn, to score the victory.

SCOTT NORTON def. JIM NEIDHART
In a power battle, Scott Norton walked past Jim Neidhart, securing the win after the jack-knife powerbomb.

CHRIS JERICHO def. ALEX WRIGHT
WCW World Television Title Match
In a battle of perhaps the two most-hated wrestlers in WCW, Chris Jericho retained the Television Championship over Alex Wright. Sorry, there was no post-match dancing this evening. Jericho countered a sunset flip by Wright, then forced Wrights submission through the Liontamer.

CURT HENNIG def. VAN HAMMER
Despite suffering from a series of injuries, such as a bruised bicep, Curt Hennig defeated the nipple-pierced Van Hammer with the Hennig-plex.
